Nature Journal: 

Hardbound in vegan leather, made to last for generations. The pages are acid-free, cold-pressed, 300 lb mixed media. Watercolor sits on them without bleeding through to the next page. An elastic strap holds the book open while your child paints. A ribbon keeps the place.

At 8.5 by 5.5 inches it slips into the daypack. Choose camel, pink, aquamarine, forest green, or ocean blue.

Your child's nature journal should outlast the childhood it records.

Pencils

Faber-Castell Grip EcoPencils, twelve colors, pre-sharpened and ready the moment you open the box. The pigment lays down smoothly and blends well. 

The barrels are triangular with raised grip dots, so small hands can hold them longer without tiring. They won't roll off the picnic table either.

The leads are glued along the full length of the barrel and never break. They sharpen cleanly instead of shattering, which is great after a pencil has spent the afternoon rattling around a backpack.

Watercolor Set: 

Each set includes 12 fundamental watercolor paints that offer beautiful transparency and intensity, spanning warm tones to cool shades. Rich, vivid colors stay consistent and brilliant, making the set ideal for both beginners and seasoned artists. A swatch card is included for quick color reference. The compact, durable case fits easily in a bag or pocket for outdoor painting. One 6 or 8 inch round brush is included with every bundle.

Your bundle includes one of our nature sets: Essential, Landscape, or Forest. We also carry Autumn and Floral palettes separately, for painting fall color and flowers.

Magnifier

Ten times magnification through a real glass lens, 45 mm across. Enough to show a child the veins in a wing or the hairs along a stem.

The lens swings out of its cover with a turn, then folds back in when your child is finished. Closed it's about the size of a credit card, just under half an inch thick. The cover keeps the glass from getting scratched in a pocket or at the bottom of the pack.

Drawstring Day Pack

One hundred percent cotton canvas, printed with Scripture. The camel bag carries Isaiah 40:31. The pear carries Psalm 23.

It's light enough for every child, even the youngest to carry alone. Add a water bottle and snacks, and they are set. 

Brass Whistle

Solid brass, so it won't crack or rust the way a plastic whistle does. It sounds wet or dry, in rain or in snow.

125 decibels carries far through trees. A child who has wandered too far can be found by sound long before anyone sees her.

Save it for that. A whistle scatters every creature you came out to see, so it isn't for play.

The Nature Study Bundle gathers the tools children need to practice true science outdoors.
