Living Letters: Bible Copywork I Manuscript with Lines

Copywork (transcribing beautifully written passages) is the foundation for training future writers. This copywork curriculum will teach your child grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, vocabulary, spelling, memorization, and best of all, spiritual thinking and character formation. 

Each week, a new passage of Scripture is presented for the child to copy word for word. The child is asked to copy the passage slowly, using his best and most careful handwriting. This exercise should have a ten-minute time limit. If the child is not finished, he can return for ten-minute sessions on subsequent days until the passage is complete. 

Once the child has completed copying the Scripture, he will move on to the dictation page. Instructions are in the manual for the best way to do dictation. If done correctly, dictation will help develop the neural pathways responsible for excellent writing as your child grows and develops.

After dictation is complete, the next exercise is to recite the Scripture from memory and create a visual narration of the verse to further transfer the material from short-term to long-term memory. This ensures your child truly hides the Word of God in his heart.
