Give your children the story of America told the way stories are meant to be told. New World Wonders is a full-year history course for grades 1 through 8, and your whole family learns from the same book at the same time. You teach one lesson, not one lesson per child. That makes your day simpler and your table livelier, with your youngest and your oldest talking about the same story from where each of them stands.

Instead of worksheets and multiple-choice tests, children read a living narrative and respond through discussion, narration, and hands-on work. It follows the Charlotte Mason method and carries a Christian view of history throughout.

For history you need only one textbook and one Activity Guide for the entire family. Give each child a Book of Centuries and a Notebooking Journal, and you have a complete year.

Because children answer through narration and discussion instead of fixed tests, the same lesson holds a child who's racing ahead and a child who learns differently, each responding at their own level. The child who struggles isn't sent to a separate book or a separate table; they stay in the story with everyone else.

For high school credit. New World Wonders can carry one high school credit in American History I with some added reading. A credit is a Carnegie unit, about 120 hours of study across the year. American History I usually spans 1492 to 1863, and New World Wonders takes your student to roughly 1790 and the signing of the Constitution. To complete the credit, add readings that carry the story forward: a book on the Constitution, several on westward expansion, several on slavery, and one on the Civil War.
